Introduction and Background 

Hi, my name is Hannah. I am twenty-two years old and I am from West Palm Beach, Florida. I go to the University of South Florida and I am majoring in Integrated Public Relations and Advertising. 

Personal Interests

I enjoy creative activities like drawing, baking/cooking, and doing makeup. I have been drawing ever since I was a little girl. Growing up I loved creating fashion pieces with this Project Runway set I had been given. Now, I really enjoy creating pointillism pieces in my free time. As I got older I also started to channel my artistic abilities into my makeup routine. One of my favorite parts of the day would be getting ready and putting on makeup. The time I spend doing my makeup always feels relaxing and like a good start to the day. Another activity I channeled my creativity into is baking and cooking. Once I moved into my own place I really started to enjoy creating different types of meals and desserts. I really love making tacos and cheesecakes. Of course, I never would put the two together. 

Work

When I was seventeen years old I started working in retail. My first job was working for a franchise called Oil & Vinegar. I worked as a lead associate selling different flavored olive oils and kinds of vinegar. As well as selling other condiments and cooking materials. I worked for Oil &Vinegar for about four years until I moved to Gainesville for a little over a year. After settling into my new life in Gainesville I started working for a fast-food company called Bolay. During my time working for Bolay in Gainesville, I was able to coordinate local marketing. I would set up events to drop off samples of food offered at Bolay to different local businesses and doctor offices. Recently, I moved back home to West Palm and started working for Oil & Vinegar again and the Bolay nearby while I do online classes at USF.

Blogging Experience

If I am going to be completely honest I have never blogged a day in my life until today. Unless Canvas discussion posts count as a blogging experience. I am on a few social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat. I just have not blogged through those platforms or others. However, I have used blogs for informational usage. When writing papers for classes that deal with topics like psychology or art appreciation I have found blogs useful to help me further understand a topic. I also have found blogs can come in handy when experimenting with different recipes. In general, I don't really enjoy reading blogs for fun. I do however watch vlogs on YouTube almost every morning while I am getting ready for work. I find that I can focus better when I am watching a video rather than reading about a topic. YouTube is probably my favorite social media platform since I can watch makeup tutorials and fashion vlogs. I don't have much experience with blogging especially in this kind of context and format. I do believe I will become quite a bit more comfortable with blogging while writing for this Information and Social Media course.
